After extensive research I decided that I would only use two types of metal in my jewellery. Here's why
Coffee Pod Creations is all about embracing sustainability and creating unique pieces of jewellery. To achieve this, all items are handmade with upcycled aluminum. By repurposing discarded coffee pods, I can give the aluminium a new lease of life by transforming them into original accessories that tell a unique story.
Aluminium is light weight, hypoallergenic and great for jewellery. However working with aluminium can pose certain challenges. Aluminium requires specialized welding equipment for soldering, which unfortunately I don't possess. As a result, I prefer to utilise another metal for the jewellery findings (e.g. ear hooks and chains)
Now my aim is to provide high-quality accessories that add joy to your lives. After extensive research on metals suitable for jewellery, I discovered that silver stainless steel met all the criteria. Unlike other affordable jewellery, stainless steel is waterproof, tarnish free, and hypoallergenic. It won’t turn your skin green and it won’t loose its colour. It also requires minimal care and cleaning. This makes it perfect for everyday wear, and being long lasting means no need to replace in the future.
Aluminium and stainless steel is a great combination for jewellery. Aluminium provides a lightweight feel, while silver stainless steel doesn’t fade over time. Additionally, both metals are hypoallergenic, ensuring that you can confidently wear Coffee Pod Creations jewellery every day. By carefully selecting high-quality materials for these components, I can guarantee that the finished jewellery is of the highest standard and at an affordable price.
